Research Paper
The research paper must be word processed using word processing software of your choice. The parameters for acceptable papers include:
- 6 to 10 pages in length plus a title / cover page and a list of references ( can include a few reasonably sized diagrams )
- Double spaced
- Between a 10 and 12 point font
- Standard Margins of 1" all around
- Stapled in the upper left hand corner
- A minimum of three ( 3 ) references to source material must be included. Photocopies of all referenced material must be attached. If the article is from a book or lengthy article, it is not necessary to photocopy the entire chapter / article but - at a minimum - the prior and subsequent pages must be included
- Draw your own conclusions - do not just repeat what someone else said about the subject
Topics for the paper are your choice. Do not pick too general of a subject nor one that is too restricted.
- Prepare a short paragraph detailing the subject selected and why you desire to research that topic and its relationship to the class ( more that a sentence or two ). Pass that in / email it to me over the next two weeks and get my response before you delve into the topic too far.
In addition to writing the paper, you should prepare a short (5 - 10 minute) synopsis of the material for presentation to the class.
